Trump's Outrage as Democrats Seize Control of Congress

After a surprising victory in the 2026 midterms, where Democrats successfully flipped both the U.S. House and Senate, President Donald Trump expressed his discontent through a series of posts on Truth Social. The results included unexpected wins in key races, such as the Senate seats in Texas, South Carolina, and North Carolina, leaving Trump less than pleased with the outcome.

Trump’s Criticism of Greg Abbott and Fox News

In the wake of the election results, Trump directed his ire towards Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who lost his re-election campaign to Democrat Gina Hinojosa. “If Greg Abbott, the Governor of Texas, hadn’t become a RINO in the last six months of his Political Life, he wouldn’t have lost,” he wrote. “He went back to his original formula, and it wasn’t pretty!”

Trump also took aim at Fox News, expressing his frustration about the network’s decision to feature former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. “Why does FoxNews have Bill de Blasio, the Worst Mayor in the History of New York City, on air, ranting and raving like a Lunatic?” Trump questioned in another post. “He left the City in disgrace, and the damage he caused was incalculable — It has never been the same, and now he’s telling us how to run America. FoxNews bears responsibility for these losses by constantly and consistently putting on the Dumocrat opposition, and worse. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

Trump’s Aspirations as a Political Pundit

Alongside his critiques, Trump shared an image of his signature red caps emblazoned with the word “VETO” and commented on his future endeavors: “I’m going to become a Political Pundit, both good and bad, on the reasons these Candidates won and lost!” This reflects Trump’s intention to remain active in political discourse, even if he is not currently on the ballot.

Trump’s Lack of Ballot Eligibility

Before election night concluded, Trump erroneously claimed he would have won in a landslide if he had been on the ballot. “I wasn’t on the Ballot and if I was, we would have won IN A LANDSLIDE! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” he stated. However, as the sitting president, he is not eligible for the 2026 ballot and cannot run again in 2028 due to the 22nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which limits any person to being elected to the presidency twice.

Trump’s Mixed Emotions on Election Night

While Trump expressed anger over the midterm results, he also communicated a willingness to accept them during an interview with The New York Times. “We’ll work with the Democrats, and we’ll, you know, look forward to working with them. We’ll probably work something out,” Trump added, demonstrating an eagerness to navigate the evolving political landscape.
