Sofia Franklyn, a well-known media personality and cofounder of the popular podcast “Call Her Daddy,” recently announced her engagement, much to the delight of her followers. This development comes years after her significant departure from the famed podcast, a move that sparked widespread discussion. Through this new phase in her life, Sofia Franklyn continues to captivate audiences, maintaining her presence in the spotlight despite past controversies.
A Notable Departure
In 2020, Sofia Franklyn made headlines when she left “Call Her Daddy,” a podcast she co-hosted with Alex Cooper. The split followed unsuccessful negotiations with Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy, who was offering a 50/50 deal. “Sofia did not take the deal,” Alex explained in a May 2020 episode. “Everyone realized she’s never gonna be happy. There were more and more points and then eventually, she stopped sending points and then she never sent her points. She said she wanted it. She never signed it.”
The Search for Resolution
While Alex cited failed negotiations as the reason Sofia Franklyn chose to leave, Sofia shared a different perspective, describing her departure as stemming from feelings of betrayal. “Everything that we had been working toward and planning for the last half a year to year was all of a sudden not the plan anymore,” Sofia told Rolling Stone in July 2020. She believed Alex Cooper preferred staying with Barstool Sports, aligning with Dave Portnoy, a decision Sofia found unsettling. “I found out later [Cooper and Portnoy] 1,000 percent had this relationship that I wasn’t aware of and not a part of.”
Moving Beyond the Past
Despite the challenges of her departure, Sofia Franklyn has successfully moved on, building her own brand and exploring new ventures. Her engagement marks a joyful milestone, bringing renewed attention to her personal journey. As Sofia Franklyn continues to shape her own narrative, fans remain eager to see where her path leads next.
