Wendy Williams Accuses Guardian of Isolating Her from Friends

Wendy Williams’ recent struggles have taken a new turn as she fears her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, is attempting to isolate her from her friends as a form of punishment. After overcoming serious health concerns, including being cleared of frontotemporal dementia, Williams is in a precarious situation, reliant on Morrissey for her day-to-day life. Insiders suggest that Morrissey’s behavior may be retaliatory, leaving Williams feeling more alone than ever.

Health Update and Isolation Concerns

Wendy Williams and her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, will never be friends, it seems. Following a report from renowned Mount Sinai neurologist, Dr. Samuel Gandy, that cleared Williams of severe cognitive impairments, insiders claim Williams suspects her guardian is retaliating. According to HIPAA regulations, a representative for Mount Sinai has declined to confirm whether Williams is indeed a patient of Dr. Gandy.

On Wednesday, Williams anticipated a celebratory dinner with friends to mark her health improvement. However, she was unable to reach her bodyguard, raising suspicions that Morrissey may have dismissed him intentionally. A source informed Page Six, “She thinks Sabrina may have dismissed him.”

Restrictions and Control

Williams’ current living situation is quite restrictive, confining her to a luxury facility’s memory unit floor. She cannot leave without either a bodyguard or a visit from her niece, Alex Finnie, who travels from Miami. “She can’t go anywhere without Sabrina signing off, and [the bodyguard] being there,” noted a source close to Williams.

Even though Williams’ estate covers the cost of her bodyguard, it is alleged that Morrissey has previously fired a bodyguard under similar circumstances, thereby keeping Williams out of the loop. “They don’t keep her in the loop. [Morrissey] doesn’t want her to go out,” a source revealed, highlighting the pervasive atmosphere of control.

Failed Surprise Celebration

Excitement surrounded a planned dinner two weeks ago where Williams’ friends, including comedian Luenell and former “Wendy” producer Suzanne Bass, intended to celebrate the “How You Doin?” broadcaster at Max Tucci’s restaurant in New York’s Noho neighborhood. Luenell and Bass ended up dining without her but shared a heartfelt phone conversation with Williams. “I was going to kiss you, hold your hand, all the s–t you don’t like,” Luenell expressed, while also stating, “I’m praying for you, queen.”

In a bittersweet exchange, Williams expressed her wish to introduce Luenell during one of her Las Vegas shows once she regains her freedom. “It was a sweet reunion, but would’ve been much better in person,” stated a source.

Concerns from Legal Representation

Williams’ attorney, Joe Tacopina, likened her guardianship to a prison sentence, emphasizing that it restricts her freedom rather than protects her. Although he refrained from commenting on Morrissey’s conduct regarding the bodyguard, Tacopina asserted, “Wendy is not being protected. She’s being punished.” He underscored that what was intended as a safeguard has evolved into a system of control that diminishes her autonomy.

In this context, Williams’ friends believe her more recent outings have led to Morrissey’s anger, noting that such events could have contributed to her feelings of being confined. They have taken to calling her the “Sabrina b-tch,” reflecting their collective frustration at the situation.

The struggle for Wendy Williams to reclaim her independence continues, as her fears surrounding her guardian’s intentions loom large.
