Sling Introduces Affordable Flex Passes for Short-Term Streaming

In a groundbreaking move for budget-conscious viewers, Sling TV introduces its “Flex Passes,” offering short-term cable streaming starting at just $5. This innovative approach allows users to enjoy live TV without the burden of long-term contracts or hefty monthly fees. By catering to those who only need occasional access, Sling TV is redefining how fans watch their favorite shows, sports, and events.

While on-demand streaming services have become dominant, traditional cable channels still hold exclusive rights to numerous shows, events, and sports broadcasts. To address this gap, many viewers have opted for live TV streaming services. However, these platforms often come with a steep price tag of $50 to $100 monthly, and not everyone requires continuous access. For those looking to catch a singular event, the monthly fee can seem excessive.

Enter Sling’s new “Flex Passes.” These short-term options provide a cost-effective solution for those needing only brief access to live TV streaming. With choices ranging from a single day to a full week, Sling’s Flex Passes enable viewers to enjoy specific games, award shows, or events without committing to a long-term plan.

The Flex Passes offer varied durations at attractive prices:

  • Day Pass: 24 hours of streaming for $4.99
  • Weekend Pass: Friday-Sunday streaming for $9.99
  • Week Pass: Seven days of streaming for $14.99

“This launch is about putting control back in the hands of the fans, whether it’s tuning in for college football, professional sports, award shows, or a spontaneous movie night, all without having to sign a long-term, binding contract,” said Seth Van Sickel, Sling TV Senior Vice President, Product and Operations. “With college football just around the corner, our new Day Pass offering is all consumers need to win on game day, for just $4.99.”

What Are Sling Flex Passes? Pricing and Options

Sling Flex Passes provide limited-time access to the popular live TV streaming service, ranging from 24 hours to seven days, without any binding agreements. The pricing is consumer-friendly, making it more affordable than a typical outing for lunch.

There are three Flex Pass options available:

  • Day Pass, $4.99: Perfect for accessing single events, like big games or award shows, within a 24-hour period.
  • Weekend Pass, $9.99: Ideal for extended watching from Friday through Sunday, suitable for sports weekends or binge-watching marathons.
  • Week Pass, $14.99: A great choice for those needing a week-long access, like during tournament season or while traveling.

Additional channel packages, known as Sling Extras, can be added to any Flex Pass. These add-ons include categories like sports, news, and entertainment, providing channels such as the Golf Channel, Tennis Channel, NBA TV, and more.
