Paul Mescal and Barry Keoghan Transform into Beatles Icons

In a thrilling development for fans of both music and cinema, the first glimpse of Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr in an upcoming Beatles film series has been unveiled. Directed by Sam Mendes, this cinematic endeavor promises a fresh take on the iconic band’s legacy. The project has stirred excitement with its unique portrayal of the Beatles through separate films for each member, giving audiences an intimate look at their lives and perspectives.

During a promotional event, images of Harris Dickinson as John Lennon and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison were also shared.

The Beatles Take the Spotlight Again

The first preview of the eagerly awaited Beatles films directed by Sam Mendes has arrived, offering a glimpse into a creative retelling of the legendary band’s story. The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, co-founded by Paul McCartney, collaborated with Sony Pictures UK for an innovative marketing stunt. Students discovered postcards featuring Paul Mescal as McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Harris Dickinson as Lennon, and Joseph Quinn as Harrison, cleverly hidden around the institute.

Excitement for The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, announced last April, is building as it sets its release for April 7, 2028. Each film in the series will focus on one of the band members, providing an in-depth exploration of their personal experiences and contributions to the Beatles’ legacy.

A Star-Studded Cast

Tweeting from the official @mescalupdates account revealed exclusive first looks at the cast. Students of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts shared their finds on social media, amplifying anticipation for the films. Directed by Mendes, he described the project at CinemaCon in Las Vegas as potentially being “the first binge-able theatrical experience,” suggesting the films offer deeper insights into the Beatles’ lives.

Ensemble Brilliance

The films will also feature a talented ensemble cast, with James Norton portraying Brian Epstein, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, Saoirse Ronan as Linda McCartney, and Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd. Other notable actors include Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey, Harry Lloyd as George Martin, and David Morrissey as Jim McCartney. The cast further extends to Leanne Best as Mimi Smith, Bobby Schofield as Neil Aspinall, Daniel Hoffmann-Gill as Mal Evans, Arthur Darvill as Derek Taylor, and Adam Pally as Allen Klein.

These revelations and the all-star lineup promise a groundbreaking depiction of the Beatles, capturing the essence of each member’s journey in a unique cinematic form.
