Challenges in Securing Financing
Wachowski conveyed her determination to overcome these hurdles, stating, “People like it, but they really don’t want to make it because it’s [got a] wall-to-wall trans cast.” The $10 million project, co-written with her partner Mickey Ray Mahoney, reflects her urgent response to the contemporary challenges faced by trans individuals, allowing her to channel her anger and frustration into a meaningful narrative.
