LA's Small Business Fire Relief: A New Partnership Ignites

In a heartfelt effort to revive small businesses devastated by recent fires, Rick Caruso’s Steadfast LA has partnered with Banc of California. This collaboration aims to rejuvenate local enterprises in regions like Altadena, Malibu, and Pacific Palisades, which suffered immensely from the Eaton and Palisades wildfires. With a pivotal $1 million donation kickstarting the initiative, the focus is firmly on helping small businesses recover and thrive once more.

Empowering Small Businesses

The initiative is fueled by the Banc of California’s $1 million wildfire relief and recovery fund. These funds are earmarked to aid retailers, restaurants, and other small local businesses with direct grants of up to $50,000. This vital support is designed to assist business owners in reopening their doors or maintaining operations. Applications for these grants are accessible online, streamlining the support process for those in need.

A Collaborative and Multifaceted Approach

While Banc of California provides the initial funding, Steadfast LA is set to amplify these efforts with additional financial and logistical support. The organization plans to drive further donations and will implement a robust social media campaign. This campaign aims to celebrate the resilience of small businesses, address ongoing needs, and encourage consumer support. During a CNBC Small Business Playbook event, Caruso announced the initiative, spotlighting its significance alongside business owners like Gordon and Shirley Wong of Knoll’s Pharmacy, a casualty of the fire.

A Vision for Community Revival

Caruso emphasized the role small businesses play in maintaining the fabric of their communities. “These small businesses were about much more than commercial or economic activity. They were local hallmarks that gave neighborhoods their soul and fostered a sense of community,” Caruso stated. He stressed the importance of providing these businesses with the necessary tools and support to ensure their comeback, projecting hope for a brighter community future.

Jared Wolff, chairman and CEO of Banc of California, echoed this sentiment, underscoring the foundational role of small businesses in the economy. “As the largest independent bank based in Los Angeles, we know that small businesses are the foundation of our local economy,” Wolff said. He acknowledged the critical role these businesses play in fostering optimism and confidence within communities, emphasizing the joint vision with Steadfast LA for a thriving Southern California.

This partnership between Rick Caruso’s Steadfast LA and Banc of California stands as a beacon of hope for small businesses, showcasing the power of collaboration in the face of adversity.
