Escape from Isolation
Feeling confined to his basement surroundings by the age of 11, Collin devised a plan to escape. He used his twin-sized air mattress to climb out of a small window. However, his freedom was short-lived; with no place to go and having not seen his father for almost two years, he eventually returned home.
Allegations of Abuse
Upon his return, Collin discovered that his mattress and the few books he owned had been removed. It was then that he alleges Kate entered the room with zip ties, binding his wrists and ankles. He describes the incident, stating, “Once I was bound, she grabbed me by my wrists, pulled me up into a standing position and then threw me down, slamming my tailbone against the hard floor.” According to Collin, Kate berated him during the incident, calling him a burden to the family and labeling him as “crazy” and “dangerous,” words that he asserts have lingered long after the physical pain subsided.
Response from Kate Gosselin’s Team
While a representative for Kate Gosselin did not respond to E! News’ request for comment regarding Collin’s allegations, her attorney had previously stated to The Sun, “There’s always two sides to every story and when things take place in the past, it’s hard to determine because people have differing recollections and perspectives.” The attorney added a perspective that highlights the necessity of a thorough investigation: “if Kate did the things that Collin is accusing Kate of, she would have been investigated by the authorities and prosecuted.”
