Jennifer Lawrence Confronts Unauthorized Crew During Controversial Nude Scene

In a recent episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Jennifer Lawrence recounted a pivotal moment in her career that underscored the importance of advocate for oneself in Hollywood. While filming a nude scene, she discovered several crew members on set who had not been approved to be present during such intimate moments. This unsettling experience prompted Lawrence to take a strong stand, emphasizing the need for boundaries and safety on film sets.

A Lesson in Advocacy

Reflecting on her growth in the industry, Lawrence expressed that she has become more comfortable advocating for herself over the years. “You have to be malleable. That’s part of the job. When Lynne Ramsay for ‘Die My Love’ says cut your hair and get mullet bangs and dye it platinum blonde… that’s the gig,” she said. However, she acknowledged that she now speaks up more, aware of her established position within the industry.

Confronting Crew Misconduct

The incident involving unauthorized crew members deeply troubled her. “There was an instance on set where crew members who were not approved when I was doing nudity were on set,” Lawrence recounted. “I came down hard on it, purely because if we are not setting that principle then what on earth is going to happen to an 18-year-old unknown when she shows up and there’s people on set who are not approved to be there?” She stressed that it was crucial to set proper standards so that less experienced actors wouldn’t feel pressured to compromise their comfort.

Thoughts on Nudity and Intimacy

Lawrence is no stranger to intimate scenes, having made headlines last year for her comments on not using an intimacy coordinator while working with Robert Pattinson on “Die My Love.” “We did not have [an intimacy coordinator], or maybe we did but we didn’t really… I felt really safe with Rob,” she said on the “Las Culturistas” podcast, emphasizing her comfort with her co-star.

Discussing her perspective on nudity, she mentioned, “I don’t care about nudity. I’m not sensitive about it. I wanted Lynne to have total freedom artistically.” Lawrence noted that her experience of being pregnant during the filming significantly altered her views on body image, stating, “I remember, like, them sending over a close-up of cellulite and being like, ‘Do you want us to touch this up?’ And I was like, ‘No. That’s an ass.’”
