The highly anticipated “Anaconda” trailer featuring Jack Black and Paul Rudd has finally dropped, offering a fresh twist on the beloved snake horror genre. With its blend of humor and horror, this reimagined version promises a unique cinematic experience as it approaches its Christmas release in 2025. The film’s intriguing premise has already sparked considerable excitement among fans eager to see how these comedic powerhouses will breathe new life into this cult classic.
Sony has released the first trailer for Paul Rudd and Jack Black’s “Anaconda,” a reimagining of the classic 1997 snake horror movie.
Tom Gormican, acclaimed for directing “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” and writing “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F,” has taken on the task of co-writing and directing the new “Anaconda.” While it shares the title with the 1997 thriller, featuring stars like Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson, this version is a fresh take rather than a remake.
The revamped “Anaconda” centers on a group of friends navigating midlife crises who decide to recreate their favorite film from their youth. Jack Black takes on the role of Doug, a wedding videographer, while Paul Rudd plays Griff, a background actor. Their adventurous trip into the jungle quickly turns more serious. The film boasts a stellar cast, including Thandiwe Newton, Steve Zahn, and Daniela Melchior.
Last year, Rudd and Black teased their fans by confirming the project and revealing its release date with a fun promotional video on YouTube. “We’re making a movie!” Black enthusiastically declared. “Paul Rudd and Jack Black star in the ‘Anaconda.’” Rudd explained that the film aims to evoke various emotions: “You want to get scared,” he said, “You want to laugh. You want to celebrate with your friends. Maybe you’re alone, sad, and just want to forget about that.”
Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are behind the production of “Anaconda” under their Fully Formed Entertainment banner, with Kevin Etten co-writing this exciting reimagining.
