Tyler, the Creator Delays Camp Flog Gnaw Amid Heavy LA Rains

As Southern California braces for an onslaught of severe weather, the much-anticipated music festival Camp Flog Gnaw, organized by Tyler, the Creator, has been postponed. The impending “atmospheric rain torrential downpour” has led to a wave of event cancellations throughout the region, prioritizing safety over scheduling. The festival will now take place at a later date, ensuring fans and artists can enjoy it under safer conditions.

Postponement of Camp Flog Gnaw

With reports of an “atmospheric river” threatening Southern California, Tyler, the Creator decided to reschedule Camp Flog Gnaw, originally planned for this weekend at Dodger Stadium. In a social media announcement, Tyler explained the decision to shift the dates to November 22 and 23, stating, “Due to the fact this storm became an atmospheric rain torrential downpour we had 2 choices — cancel or move to next weekend. We chose the latter.” He assured ticket holders that refunds are available for those unable to attend the rescheduled event.

Lineup Updates

Despite the postponement, the festival’s lineup remains largely intact, boasting performances by Tyler, ASAP Rocky, Childish Gambino, Doechii, Clipse, Earl Sweatshirt, T-Pain, Larry June & 2 Chainz, and Thundercat. However, fans will miss appearances by Don Toliver, Tems, Sombr, and Clairo. Sharing her disappointment on Instagram, Clairo reflected on what this event meant for her, expressing heartfelt gratitude: “A sad and unexpected ending to Charm, but I am leaving this time in my life with so much appreciation & gratitude in my heart.”

Weather Warnings and Preparations

The Los Angeles Times has forecasted the potential for downtown Los Angeles to experience its wettest November since 1985. The incoming storm places areas affected by last January’s wildfires, such as the Eaton and Palisades regions, at risk of flooding and landslides. A flood watch is set from late Friday through Saturday, with evacuation warnings in place for vulnerable neighborhoods until Sunday morning.

As art and meteorology collide in Los Angeles, the safety-first approach taken by Tyler, the Creator in postponing Camp Flog Gnaw underscores the unpredictable nature of live events amid environmental challenges. The decision reflects a commitment to community wellbeing, reinforcing the importance of being adaptable and considerate in the face of atmospheric rain and potential hazards.
