TAICCA Forges Bold Alliances with K2 Pictures and Lunta Ventures

The Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) has made significant strides in fostering international collaboration by forming strategic partnerships with Japan’s K2 Pictures and Taiwan’s Lunta Ventures. This initiative, announced at the Taiwan Creative Content Fest, underscores Taiwan’s ambition to bolster its presence in film, television, and digital entertainment sectors globally. The new alliances highlight a blend of global partnership and strategic investment to propel Taiwanese content to the forefront.

At the event, TAICCA introduced a co-production agreement with K2 Pictures Inc. of Japan and announced the establishment of the Digital Games Fund in collaboration with Lunta Ventures. These partnerships aim to enhance Taiwan’s global visibility in creative content while accelerating the globalization of its entertainment industry.

Strengthening Film and TV Collaborations

The agreement with K2 Pictures lays out frameworks for joint investment, co-production, and content financing to boost the international profile of Taiwanese film projects. This pact was officially signed by TAICCA’s deputy CEO, Hu Ting-li, and Kii Muneyuki, founder and chair of K2 Pictures.

Kii Muneyuki expressed K2’s dedication to Taiwan as a creative partner, stating, “We plan to shoot in Taiwan and collaborate with Taiwanese talent. Our goal is to bring the strength of Asian cinema to audiences worldwide.” This partnership is anticipated to solidify long-term creative ties between the nations.

The collaboration is further supported by K2’s impressive roster, featuring celebrated Japanese filmmakers like Kore-eda Hirokazu, Iwai Shunji, and Miike Takashi. Ting-li emphasized, “Taiwan’s film and TV productions continue to draw global attention. We believe this partnership will open new pathways for internationally competitive Taiwan–Japan co-productions.”

Advancing Taiwan’s Gaming Industry

In a bid to elevate Taiwan’s gaming sector, TAICCA and Lunta Ventures have launched the Digital Games Fund. This initiative aims to support Taiwanese game intellectual property from its inception through to commercialization. During the signing ceremony, Hsieh Meng-kung, chair of Lunta Ventures, underscored the fund’s objective: “Through this collaboration with TAICCA, we hope to elevate Taiwan’s gaming industry to greater heights. We want Taiwan to be seen globally and guide the industry toward new opportunities ahead.”

Expanding Global Opportunities

By fostering collaborations across both film and digital gaming industries, TAICCA positions Taiwan as a burgeoning hub for Asian creative partnerships. At the Taiwan Creative Content Fest, additional memorandums of understanding were announced with Japan’s TOHAN and Korea’s CLB. These agreements aim to propel Taiwanese comics onto the global stage, further demonstrating TAICCA’s commitment to international expansion.
