Excitement for the latest web-slinging adventure has reached unprecedented heights as Spider-Man: Brand New Day becomes the most-viewed trailer in a single day. Tom Holland‘s return to the iconic superhero role has captivated audiences, with the film poised to become a standout summer blockbuster. This milestone highlights the enduring appeal of Spider-Man’s universe and the anticipation for the forthcoming release.
The trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day amassed an astounding 718.6 million views in just 24 hours. The buzz began immediately after its release on Wednesday, surpassing the previous record within eight hours. With 373 million views initially, it quickly overtook Deadpool and Wolverine, which held the past record with 365 million views.
This new trailer debuted a year after Tom Holland shared his Spider-Man costume online, marking his first return since 2021’s No Way Home. That film featured memorable cameos from former Spider-Man stars Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. However, the production of Holland’s fourth Spider-Man film faced a temporary halt when he sustained a mild concussion on set.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and penned by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, will hit theaters on July 31. Besides Holland, the cast includes Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Mark Ruffalo reprising his role as Bruce Banner, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, and Jon Bernthal as the Punisher. Sadie Sink and Tramell Tillman also join the ensemble cast.
In 2024, during a conversation on the Rich Roll podcast, Tom Holland gave a teaser about the sequel during its scripting phase. “Zendaya and I sat down and read it together, and we at times were bouncing around the living room like, ‘This is a real movie worthy of the fans’ respect,’” he shared. The excitement surrounding Spider-Man: Brand New Day underscores its promise to deliver a cinematic experience that fans have come to expect from the beloved superhero saga.
