Soulshine at Sea 3 Canceled as Artists Withdraw Unexpectedly

The highly anticipated music and wellness cruise, Soulshine at Sea 3, headlined by Michael Franti, has been officially canceled. The event, originally scheduled for November 4-8, faced significant setbacks as key performers such as Dispatch, Maggie Rose, and others withdrew their participation, citing serious allegations. The cancelation announcement, made by Sixthman, reflects the unfolding controversy clouding the music festival.

Cancellation Announcement

Artists Dispatch, Maggie Rose, Hirie, and Liz Vice were among those initially planned to perform at Soulshine at Sea 3. However, after announcements of their withdrawal, festival promoter Sixthman formally canceled the event. “In light of recent events, the Soulshine at Sea with Michael Franti event scheduled for November 4-8, 2025, is canceled,” was the message posted on their website. They plan to announce a new event for the same dates shortly.

Statements from Michael Franti and Artists

Following the news, Michael Franti addressed the situation with a statement discussing a personal relationship outside his marriage. “I’m aware of the recent posts this artist made about our relationship… the relationship was completely consensual,” Franti stated. He admitted to a power imbalance due to his position as a headliner.

Meanwhile, other artists cited troubling allegations as their reason for withdrawing. Dispatch shared, “We’ve decided we will no longer be performing… We have been made aware of deeply concerning public allegations.” Maggie Rose expressed solidarity with her peers: “I hope you understand my decision and I appreciate your support.”

Allegations and Reactions

The unfolding controversy linked to Soulshine at Sea 3 intensified with allegations from musician Victoria Canal. Canal claimed she had been sexually abused and groomed by a powerful figure in the music industry when she was only 19. Her story highlighted a pattern of misconduct and enablers protecting the alleged abuser’s image.

Canal wrote on Instagram about her journey toward healing and urged others to stay vigilant. “It feels very liberating for Victoria to speak on her experience,” her representative commented, hoping her story acts as a warning to young women in the industry.

The Path Ahead

The situation surrounding Soulshine at Sea 3 highlights serious issues of misconduct and accountability within the music industry. As organizers promise a new event, the canceled festival leaves a significant imprint, emphasizing the importance of addressing allegations with sincerity and transparency. With victim support and acknowledgment, the hope remains for a future where such events honor integrity and respect for all involved.
