Shepard Fairey Creates Exclusive Artists4Ceasefire Pins for Oscars Launch

In a show of creativity and solidarity, Artists4Ceasefire has collaborated with renowned artist Shepard Fairey to design a new pin badge unveiled just in time for the upcoming 2026 Oscars ceremony. This striking accessory serves as a symbol of hope and peace, aligning with the collective’s ongoing mission to promote a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and peace between Palestinians and Israelis.

Oscar Night Spotlight

As the film industry gears up for the 98th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre, Artists4Ceasefire introduces its new pin to raise awareness for their cause. Established shortly after the events of October 7, 2023, this group comprises actors, filmmakers, and other artists advocating for a lasting peace. The timing of this release is strategic, aiming to leverage the global visibility of the Oscars to amplify their message.

A Symbol of Hope

The pins, crafted by Shepard Fairey, feature a poignant design: a dove with a lotus flower on a barbed wire stem. According to Artists4Ceasefire, this image symbolizes “hope, resilience, and a just peace.” The heart depicted above the flower underscores the power of love for all humanity, emphasizing a commitment to freedom from regions like Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, Sudan, and Minnesota.

FAirey commented, “Humanity and justice are not privileges reserved for some of us; they belong to all people, without exception.” He added that art can transcend borders, reminding us of our shared humanity and the necessity of love intertwined with justice and accountability.

Star-Studded Support

While it’s uncertain which celebrities will adorn the new pin design at this year’s Oscars, the badge from previous years has been a staple on the red carpet. The 2024 Academy Awards saw personalities like Billie Eilish, Mark Ruffalo, and Ava DuVernay showcasing their support. Similarly, the 2025 Emmy Awards featured notable figures such as Javier Bardem and Megan Stalter wearing the symbol.

Alongside them, stars like Susan Sarandon, Phoebe Bridgers, Nicola Coughlan, and Hannah Einbinder have also been advocates by donning the pins at various prestigious events. Their participation highlights a broad support network within the entertainment industry for Artists4Ceasefire’s mission.

As the Oscars unfold, the new pin by Shepard Fairey is poised to attract attention, sparking conversation and reinforcing a message of peace and unity on a grand stage.
