'Reminders of Him' Tops Box Office, Beats 'Hoppers'

The latest box office figures reveal a captivating weekend for film enthusiasts as Universal‘s “Reminders of Him” takes the lead with $8 million in earnings on Friday. Meanwhile, Disney and Pixar’s “Hoppers” continues to perform admirably, securing the second spot with a strong $7.1 million. These impressive figures highlight a thrilling competition at the box office, driven by engaging narratives and fan-favorite creators.

“Reminders of Him” Tops the Charts

Universal’s “Reminders of Him,” directed by Vanessa Caswill, is the third film adaptation of a Colleen Hoover novel and has quickly captured audience attention. The film, featuring Maika Monroe as Kenna, tells the poignant story of a woman determined to reconnect with her daughter after serving time in prison. It grossed $8 million from 3,402 locations across North America, with projections indicating a climb to $19 million by the weekend’s close.

Hoover’s cinematic adaptations continue their streak of success, with previous films like “It Ends With Us” and “Regretting You” achieving substantial box office returns. This latest entry is set to bolster Hoover’s reputation for producing adaptable and compelling narratives.

“Hoppers” Holds Its Ground

Despite a new contender in the ring, Pixar’s “Hoppers” remains resilient, earning $7.1 million on Friday. With its North American total expected to hit $86 million by Sunday, the film marks a significant milestone for Pixar, ending a stretch of challenges the studio faced with original titles. Following a robust opening comparable to hits like “Coco,” “Hoppers” reflects a promising rebound for the animation giant.

Pixar’s recent efforts with sequels like “Inside Out 2” have dominated the box office, but the success of “Hoppers” suggests a renewed potential for original stories to captivate audiences once again.

Other Box Office Performances

Securing the third position, A24’s “Undertone” brought in an estimated $4.3 million from 2,570 locations. Directed by Ian Tuason, this haunting indie horror follows Nina Kiri as a podcaster besieged by supernatural events. Predicted to earn $10 million by Sunday, it underscores A24’s reputation for delivering intriguing indie hits.

In fourth place, “Scream 7” earned $2.6 million, with expectations of reaching $8.4 million by the end of the weekend, taking its North American earnings to $106 million. Lastly, “GOAT” rounded out the top five with $1.2 million, forecasted to accumulate $4.7 million by Sunday.

Overall, these box office performances reflect a dynamic marketplace where storytelling continues to attract audiences and filmmakers find innovative ways to connect with viewers.
