Court is once again in session for The Rainmaker season two, and fans are bracing themselves for a thrilling ride. The stakes are higher than ever, as Rudy, portrayed by Milo Callaghan, alongside Bruiser and Deck, faces their youngest and most vulnerable client to date— someone lacking deep pockets but in desperate need of help.
Elevated Morality and New Challenges
As the series transitions from the rainmaking antics of the first season, the second season dives into deeper moral questions. P.J. Byrne, who plays Deck, acknowledged this shift during an exclusive interview with E! News. He reflected on how the experiences from the first season have reshaped Deck’s approach to law.
“You know what’s interesting,” said Byrne, a veteran of The Wolf of Wall Street. “After [Bruiser] taught me to be an amazing lawyer, [Rudy] taught me to have a huge moral code—that’s where I find myself this year.” He elaborated that Deck is now more inclined to seek out clients who are victims of bullying rather than those with easy or lucrative cases.
Fighting for the Underdog
Byrne continued, “So, if the powerful are trumping on the people that are weak, he has a problem with that. He likes to punch a bully, and he’s got the two best weapons in the land to stand next to.” This new moral compass significantly alters the dynamics of the courtroom as the characters tackle adversities that resonate with audiences on a personal level.
As the series unfolds, it remains to be seen how Rudy, Bruiser, and Deck will navigate the complexities of their new case and what challenges lie ahead. One thing is clear: with an emphasis on standing up for the vulnerable, the stakes in The Rainmaker season two are nothing short of monumental.
