Nicolas Cage's Malibu Home Lost to Sinkhole Disaster

Nicolas Cage is experiencing an unexpected disruption in his life as he navigates through a challenging situation involving his Malibu home. The acclaimed actor recently revealed that he is temporarily displaced due to a significant sinkhole that has caused considerable damage to his $10.5 million mansion.

Current Living Situation

During a panel discussion at the Los Angeles Comic Con on October 31, Cage candidly admitted, “I’m currently a little bit homeless.” He explained that the unfortunate circumstances have led him to reside in hotels until further notice. This situation has undeniably altered his usual routine, including his family life and holiday plans.

Halloween Plans Adjusted

This year, Cage’s Halloween festivities looked quite different, particularly as he prepared to celebrate with his 4-year-old daughter, August, whom he shares with his wife, Riko Shibata. The actor noted, “I don’t have normal trick-or-treaters that I would like to enjoy tonight.” Instead, he plans to take his daughter trick-or-treating in Santa Monica. Meanwhile, his personal entertainment will include watching a movie that stands out for its unique distinction: “I am going to watch a movie where the director was actually nominated for Worst Director at the Razzies—called The Shining.”

As Cage continues to navigate through this period of uncertainty, the love for his family remains steadfast, showing that even in the face of adversity, moments of normalcy and joy are still cherished.
