The Hollywood Commission has unveiled a series of new anti-harassment resources tailored specifically for entertainment industry workers, aiming to enhance safety and inclusivity within the workplace. Under the banner of its “Respect on Set” initiative, these resources are particularly geared toward independent and low-budget productions, providing essential support where it’s most needed.
Empowering Independent Productions
The “Respect on Set” initiative is a strategic effort by the Hollywood Commission to empower producers with the tools and guidelines necessary to foster safer working environments. Developed in conjunction with industry leaders like Jeanette Volturno, Monica Levinson, and Bart Rosenblatt, the resources encompass best practices, templates, and comprehensive implementation guides, all consolidated into one accessible platform.
Research conducted by the Hollywood Commission highlights that independent and low-budget productions often encounter higher rates of sexual coercion and assault compared to major studios. To address this disparity, “Respect on Set” offers a digital toolkit with sample codes of conduct, customizable policy templates, and communication tools aimed at mitigating such issues.
Providing Practical Resources
The digital toolkit from the “Respect on Set” initiative includes a pre-production audit and implementation checklist to ensure that productions are prepared to maintain a respectful environment. Additionally, it offers training resources and practical guidance to help productions meet IATSE LBA responsibilities, illustrating a commitment to sustain positive change across the industry.

In other industry news, Leonardo DiCaprio is set to receive the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actor for his compelling performance in Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” at the Palm Springs International Film Awards.
