Neil Perry Reveals Shocking Termination from The Band Perry

Complications are unfolding for The Band Perry as Neil Perry, one of the trio of siblings who make up the group, has publicly shared details about his departure from the band. On Tuesday night, Neil took to Instagram to declare that he was “terminated” from the band after a disagreement with his sister Kimberly regarding the band’s future lineup. Currently, The Band Perry is led by Kimberly and her husband, Johnny Costello.

Dispute and Departure

In a detailed post, Neil reflected on key moments from June 2024, sharing a clip of Kimberly’s interview on the Rolling Stone Nashville Now podcast, where she discussed the transitional phase for the band. Neil asserted that he had explicitly requested Kimberly not to misrepresent his stance on the band’s new direction, particularly in response to a question about his support for the changes.

“I think they are very interested in the Band Perry getting landed as well,” Kimberly stated during the podcast. “This was my family band in the living room before everything else… And of course, there’s always an open seat for a brother in the band if they ever want to tour.” This response suggested a desire for family unity despite the ongoing tensions.

Clarifying the Situation

Neil expressed his frustration with how the situation was being portrayed. In his comments to Rolling Stone, he emphasized the importance of correcting what he called a “false narrative,” noting that a formal termination letter clearly stated that the decision was final. “I hope to continue making music and playing shows,” he added.

In May 2024, Neil claimed that he and Kimberly were not on consistent speaking terms when she approached him with the idea of reviving the band without their brother Reid, who was not interested in participating. Neil stated he was offered three options: moving forward as a duo, holding auditions, or allowing Kimberly’s husband to take part. While he agreed to the first two possibilities, he soon realized that Kimberly preferred the latter. The situation escalated when Reid eventually rejoined the band, prompting Neil to assert that he was “forced out” under a two-thirds partnership agreement, the details of which remain undisclosed.

Looking Ahead

In a lighter turn of events, Neil shared a humorous meme regarding the drama on Instagram, depicting himself seated in front of multiple awards with the caption, “preparing for my Netflix documentary about how The Band Perry went from three siblings to my sister and her husband.” He also hinted at his future projects, including a new endeavor titled Wolves of June, and a pop single called “TNT.”

As of now, there has been no response from a representative for Kimberly or The Band Perry regarding Neil’s claims.
