Leighton Meester and Adam Brody Share Views on Kids in Acting

Leighton Meester and Adam Brody have carved successful paths in Hollywood, but when it comes to their children’s possible futures in acting, they’ve adopted a laid-back approach. Emphasizing a desire for their kids to explore their own interests, this celebrity couple is content to let their children choose their own paths. Discussing their views with E! News, Meester and Brody share insights into how they handle the inevitable question of whether their children might follow in their footsteps.

Encouraging Independence in the Family Business

Leighton Meester and Adam Brody are determined not to pressure their children, Arlo, 10, and their 5-year-old son, into the world of acting. “I think they’ve got their own thing going on,” Meester told E! News’ Will Marfuggi at the Los Angeles premiere of Nobody Wants This season two on October 16. Brody echoed this sentiment, adding, “I smell some theater in them,” but quickly clarified, “They’re not beating down the door. They’re not thirsty.”

Finding Joy in Age-Appropriate Work

While Meester and Brody are open to the possibility of their children acting, they prioritize exposing them to age-appropriate content. Brody mentioned that their daughter enjoys Monte Carlo, a family-friendly romantic comedy starring Meester. “Which is a movie that I did that’s appropriate for children,” Meester remarked with a smile. Their kids have also watched their father in Shazam, although the couple stays away from showcasing their more adult roles.

A Balanced Perspective on Hollywood

The couple, who have been married since 2014, seem to have found a balanced perspective on the idea of their children entering the spotlight. With Meester and Brody both having starred in well-known teen dramas, they understand the pressures of Hollywood and prefer allowing their kids to grow into their own passions without the weight of expectations.

Through their relaxed stance, Meester and Brody demonstrate an appreciation for autonomy and personal choice, encouraging their children’s natural curiosity and creativity over fame. As the couple remains supportive of whatever path their kids choose, they maintain a dedication to keeping their family grounded and happy.
