In an exciting blend of music and animation, Ice Spice is set to make waves with her fast-talking single “Big Guy,” created for the eagerly anticipated sequel, “The SpongeBob Movie: Search For SquarePants.” The rapper not only contributes a dynamic track but also lends her voice to a character in the film, which promises to entertain audiences starting December 17.
Ice Spice dropped her latest track, “Big Guy,” penned exclusively for the upcoming animated sequel “The SpongeBob Movie: Search For SquarePants.” An accompanying video is set to debut later today, adding a visual element to this high-energy single.
On the catchy track, Ice Spice raps, “Off the wake up, I’m feeling my best/ Big things ’bout to happen today,” and continues with, “I bend over, I do my lil’ stretch/ I woke up feeling a brand new way/ Ain’t a jellyfish, but I’m the catch.”
“Being part of the SpongeBob soundtrack is such a full circle moment for me,” Ice Spice expressed in a statement. “It’s crazy to see my music in a movie that’s been part of so many people’s childhoods, including mine.”
Beyond the music, Ice Spice showcases her versatility by voicing a character in the film, marking her debut in the world of animated features. Her involvement in “The SpongeBob Movie: Search For SquarePants” reflects her growing footprint in entertainment.
“Big Guy” arrives soon after Ice Spice’s previous singles, “Pretty Privilege” and “Baddie Baddie.” The latter marked her first solo venture since releasing Y2K!: I’m Just A Girl (Deluxe) last December, produced by longtime collaborator RiotUSA and sampling M.I.A.’s “Bad Girls.” An Evil Twins-directed music video followed its release.
Since Y2K!: I’m Just A Girl (Deluxe), Ice Spice has been active with collaborations, including a team-up with Latto on “Gyatt.” This project was their first partnership and served to dispel rumors of any feud. Additionally, Ice Spice made her film debut in Spike Lee’s latest project, Highest 2 Lowest, alongside stars like Denzel Washington and A$AP Rocky.
“The SpongeBob Movie: Search For SquarePants,” set for a December 17 release, follows SpongeBob on a daring quest. In an effort to prove his bravery to Mr. Krabs, SpongeBob ventures with The Flying Dutchman, a ghost pirate, on a comical adventure to the ocean’s deepest realms.
