Hans Zimmer’s Bleeding Fingers Music has taken an exciting step with its recent expansion into London, aiming to enhance its global presence and deepen connections within the U.K. music and entertainment scene. This move signifies a pivotal moment for the composer collective, renowned for pushing the boundaries of screen music. The new London office, located in the historic Maida Vale Studios, will not only broaden the company’s reach but also create fresh opportunities for collaboration and innovation in the world of music composition.
Bleeding Fingers Music Takes on London
The renowned composer collective, co-founded by Hans Zimmer, Steven Kofsky, and Russell Emanuel, has officially opened a new office in London. This strategic expansion marks an important milestone in Bleeding Fingers Music’s international journey. “From the very beginning, Bleeding Fingers has been about creating a collective; a place where composers are mentored, challenged, and inspired to push the craft forward,” said Zimmer. “The UK has an incredible musical heritage and some of the most exciting storytellers in the world. Being closer to that energy allows us to keep reimagining what screen music can be.”
Enhancing Creative Collaborations
Founded in 2013 with its headquarters in Los Angeles, Bleeding Fingers Music operates uniquely as a composer collective. This model supports large-scale orchestral scoring and cross-genre experimentation, catering to global franchises, prestigious films, television, documentaries, and multimedia experiences. The new London hub at Maida Vale Studios strengthens the company’s creative ties to the U.K., building on a decade-long collaboration with British broadcasters, filmmakers, and cultural entities.
Strategic Expansion and Leadership in the U.K.
Steven Kofsky, co-founder and chairman, emphasized the importance of the London expansion in Bleeding Fingers Music’s global growth. “Establishing a London base represents a strategic step, strengthening our ability to support major international productions while deepening our partnerships across the U.K. and Europe,” he stated, highlighting the investment in world-class infrastructure and production capabilities.
Russell Emanuel, who began his career in London’s vibrant music scene, reflected on the city’s influence. “London is where my journey in music began, and the collaborative spirit I discovered here became the foundation for Bleeding Fingers,” he noted. The expansion underscores their dedication to artistic integrity and innovation.
New Leadership and Future Projects
The London office will be led by Jesse McNamara as the managing director. He will guide the operations, focusing on creative development and expanding partnerships in film, television, and multimedia across the U.K. McNamara expressed excitement about joining the company during this period of growth, stating, “Our focus is on building a long-term creative community where composers, filmmakers, and producers can collaborate at the highest level.” Dario Burns will also join as the creative director, further enhancing the team’s creative prowess.
In addition to expanding geographically, the company is busy with upcoming projects. Zimmer will score the new HBO “Harry Potter” series, while other anticipated titles include “The Duchess and I” and “Blue Planet III.”
