Fuerza Regida concluded their groundbreaking stadium tour last night at Citi Field in New York City, leaving fans ecstatic with a star-studded finale. The música mexicana superstars wowed the audience not just with their electrifying performance but also with surprise guest appearances from hip-hop icons like 50 Cent, J Balvin, and Bobby Shmurda.
Celebrating a Historic Tour
The tour, titled This is Our Dream, began in June and marked a significant milestone as Fuerza Regida became the first corridos band to perform in stadiums across the United States. The nine-date tour featured stops in cities such as San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Houston, and the Big Apple itself. Frontman Jesús Ortiz Paz, known as JOP, previously expressed the pressure of selling out these massive venues, telling Rolling Stone in April, “I got the biggest pressure on my back, making sure we sell this out. But I don’t worry. I wouldn’t be doing it if I knew I couldn’t.”
A Night of Surprises
Fuerza Regida’s final show saw them accomplishing their goal with back-to-back sold-out performances, featuring a packed audience at Citi Field. Among the highlights of the evening was the much-anticipated appearance of 50 Cent, who joined JOP on stage to deliver timeless classics like “P.I.M.P.,” “Many Men,” “I Get Money,” and “What Up Gangsta.” The show continued to celebrate hip-hop culture as Bobby Shmurda and Fenix Flexin from Shoreline Mafia made appearances, with Flexin performing his breakout hit “Rubberz.”
Special Guests and Memorable Moments
Another notable moment occurred when J Balvin took the stage, delighting fans with his hit “La Canción,” which features Bad Bunny. JOP even got in on the action by singing along to Bad Bunny’s verses. In a playful nod to the summer blockbuster Spider-Man: A Brand New Day, JOP opened the concert dressed as the iconic web-slinger, setting an energetic tone for the night.
A Message to Dreamers
As the concert drew to a close, JOP reflected on the band’s journey, stating, “We remember when we first came here and nobody knew who we were, and now we’re closing out the tour with a sold-out crowd. It’s a reminder that if you have a dream, chase it. Don’t wait for the right moment, time is money. Go get it.” His words resonated with fans, encapsulating the spirit of ambition and perseverance that Fuerza Regida has come to represent.
