Flix Brewhouse Expands in Texas
Flix Brewhouse, headquartered in Texas, has broadened its footprint by taking over four Alamo Drafthouse locations previously operated by Triple Tap Ventures. The venues—located in Montecillo in West El Paso, East El Paso, LaCenterra in Katy (Cinco Ranch), and Lubbock—will now operate under the Flix Brewhouse brand. This acquisition boosts the company’s national presence, increasing their total locations to 15, with 129 screens across six states.
A Natural Fit for Expansion
Chance Robertson, CEO of Flix Brewhouse, expressed enthusiasm about this acquisition, describing it as a “natural extension” of the company’s philosophy. “Cinema success today means creating better experiences,” Robertson stated, praising Triple Tap for their role in developing these communities. Flix Brewhouse’s unique blend of craft beer and full-service dining aligns seamlessly with the Alamo Drafthouse’s legacy of in-theater dining.
Strategic Transition for Triple Tap
Triple Tap Ventures, based in Houston, has chosen to exit the dine-in cinema space. Billingsley-Michaelsen of Triple Tap explained the decision, emphasizing the importance of a seamless transition that upholds core values. “After evaluating numerous alternatives, it was clear that the guest-first culture of Flix Brewhouse stood out,” Michaelsen remarked, expressing gratitude to the loyal Alamo guests.
Rebranding and Future Plans
Flix Brewhouse will temporarily close the acquired theaters for rebranding, aiming to reopen them by February 23 to coincide with major releases like “Scream 7” and Pixar’s “Hoppers.” As the industry adapts, CEO Chance Robertson highlighted the company’s focus on strategic growth and innovation. “The path forward in exhibition isn’t one size fits all,” he said, stressing their commitment to quality and community engagement.
With this acquisition, Flix Brewhouse positions itself as a leading force in the evolving landscape of cinema, dedicated to delivering unique, memorable experiences for audiences across Texas and beyond.
