Bridesmaids Cast Delivers Hilarious Oscar Skit Featuring Celebrity Notes

The 2026 Oscars witnessed a delightful surprise as the beloved cast of “Bridesmaids” reunited, bringing a wave of laughter and nostalgia to the prestigious event. The comedic stars took center stage, injecting humor with faux notes from Leonardo DiCaprio, Benicio del Toro, and Elle Fanning, creating an unforgettable moment at the Dolby Theatre. This “Bridesmaids” reunion reminded fans of the film’s enduring appeal and offered a comedic highlight to the star-studded evening.

Ever since Paul Feig’s “Bridesmaids” cracked the box office code and became a hit in 2011, fans have been begging for a sequel. They’re still waiting—but the Oscars 2026 producers delivered the next best thing.

Bridesmaids Cast Reunion

Stars Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Melissa McCarthy, Rose Byrne, and Ellie Kemper reunited on the Academy Awards stage inside Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre Sunday night. The appearance, greeted by a partial standing ovation, came 15 years after the film’s release, coinciding with Rose Byrne’s nomination in the best actress category for her work in Mary Bronstein’s “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You.” Fun coincidences include the A24 film featuring Conan O’Brien, who hosted the Oscars, and Rudolph’s longtime partner, Paul Thomas Anderson, attending to support his 13 Oscar nominations for “One Battle After Another.”

Comedic Highlights and Faux Celebrity Notes

The “Bridesmaids” fivesome presented two awards, original score and sound, which went to Ludwig Goransson (“Sinners”) and “F1,” respectively. However, laughter filled the Dolby Theatre as they shared the stage. Kristen Wiig humorously remarked that it’s been 15 years since the movie’s release, joking, “We are not good with numbers, but we figured out backstage that means we shot this movie in 1883.”

Following this, a producer handed the stars handwritten notes allegedly penned by audience members. Maya Rudolph began with a note: “Well, mine says, first of all, ‘You ladies look extremely beautiful tonight. You’re all aging well. Signed Stellan Skarsgård.”

Audience Interaction and More Laughs

Rose Byrne read her note next: “Rose, can you please stop looking at me? The eye contact is too much. I’m thinking of leaving. I’m very uncomfortable. Sincerely, Leonardo DiCaprio.” As the camera panned to DiCaprio, his humorous reaction promised meme-worthy moments. “I apologize. I have been staring at you. I thought you were somebody else,” Byrne quipped.

Melissa McCarthy read a note praising their looks: “All the things that you’ve done to your faces are very tasteful,” attributed to Sentimental Value nominee Elle Fanning.

Wiig’s note claimed to be from Benicio del Toro, humorously critiquing the length of their segment: “You guys have been talking for a long time. This bit could have been a lot shorter. You aren’t even talking about score. That’s all. Love you lots.” Ellie Kemper added humor with a joke about “the little kid from Hamnet” and the lack of pizza during a long show.

The Legacy of Bridesmaids

“Bridesmaids,” penned by Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo, centers on the rivalry between the maid of honor (Wiig) and a bridesmaid (Byrne) as they vie for the bride’s (Rudolph) affection. The film humorously explores tensions that risk upending the life of an out-of-work pastry chef. Reuniting at the Oscars felt fitting, as the film earned McCarthy her first of two supporting actress nominations, while Wiig and Mumolo received nods for best original screenplay.

Oscar telecast producers teased the “Bridesmaids” reunion leading up to the event, with Raj Kapoor calling it “very special.” It wasn’t the only highlight, as Katy Mullan hinted at a Marvel reunion and an extraterrestrial appearance for superhero enthusiasts.
