Singer EJAE Unveils Powerful 'Time After Time' Anthem

EJAE, renowned for her contributions to the KPop Demon Hunters phenomenon, has unveiled a captivating new solo effort titled “Time After Time.” This anthemic single delves into the emotional aftermath of a breakup, with EJAE poignantly exploring her lingering thoughts about a past relationship. The release marks a remarkable milestone in her career, underscoring her rising influence as a solo artist.

A Melodic Reflection on Heartbreak

EJAE gives voice to her introspections in “Time After Time,” crafting a narrative rooted in personal experience. “The melody of ‘Time After Time’ was stuck in my head for years, just like the person I wrote it about,” she revealed, emphasizing the enduring impact of the relationship on her creative process. The song seamlessly combines poignant lyrics with a resonant melody, making it a compelling addition to her discography.

Celebrating Grammy Success

The release of “Time After Time” follows EJAE’s groundbreaking success at the 2026 Grammy Awards, where “Golden,” her standout piece from Netflix’s animated film KPop Demon Hunters, was honored as Best Song Written for Visual Media. This historic victory marked the first time a K-Pop song received a Grammy, a moment EJAE described as significant for her as a Korean American. “It’s a song that also represents Korea,” she shared during the ceremony.

“Golden” has since captured numerous awards, including a Golden Globe and a Critics’ Choice Award, and is in the running for Best Original Song at the Oscars. The film introduces audiences to the fictional superstar group HUNTR/X, with EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami lending their voices to the characters’ songs.

Performances and Collaborations

The enthusiasm surrounding EJAE continues as the trio is slated to perform “Golden” live at the BAFTA Film Awards in London on February 22. This performance will be a significant milestone, marking their first appearance outside the United States. In addition to her work on KPop Demon Hunters, EJAE has penned tracks for renowned artists such as AESPA, Red Velvet, and TWICE, solidifying her status as a versatile and talented songwriter.

A Song of Hope and Resilience

In an interview with Rolling Stone, EJAE reflected on the emotional depth of writing “Golden,” which she co-wrote with Mark Sonnenblick. “I actually cried singing the demo, because it resonated with me so much,” she said, attributing the song’s universal appeal to its message of hope during challenging times. “Maybe that’s why ‘Golden’ is ‘going up up up.’ Because everyone’s going through a hard time. And they want to feel hope.”

With “Time After Time,” EJAE continues to captivate audiences, blending her unique voice with emotive storytelling, and further establishing her as a formidable force in the music industry.
