Sarah Schweitzman Steps Up as Co-Head of CAA Media Finance

In a significant move within the entertainment industry, Sarah Schweitzman has been appointed as the co-head of CAA Media Finance. With a wealth of experience in film and television financing, Schweitzman will guide the department alongside Roeg Sutherland, focusing on the packaging and representation of independent projects. Her appointment marks a new chapter for CAA Media Finance as it continues to support innovative content creators.

Career Path Leading to CAA

Sarah Schweitzman’s career began at CAA as an assistant, laying the foundation for her future success. She soon transitioned to Alex Kurtzman’s production company, Secret Hideout, and further advanced her career at 21st Century Fox and Vendôme Pictures. During her tenure at these companies, she contributed to major films like “Source Code” and “Kingsman: The Secret Service.” Her diverse experience in various roles prepared her for her prominent position with CAA Media Finance.

Contributions at CAA Media Finance

Returning to CAA in 2017, Sarah Schweitzman made significant strides within the media financing department. She has been instrumental in securing financing and distribution deals for a roster of acclaimed clients including Nadine Labaki and Jennifer Kent. Notably, she played key roles in the sales and financing of films such as “Coda” and “Conclave.” Her efforts have not only elevated CAA Media Finance but have also empowered filmmakers to bring unique stories to audiences.

Sutherland’s Endorsement

Roeg Sutherland, who will co-lead CAA Media Finance with Sarah Schweitzman, expressed his enthusiasm about her new role. He remarked, “Sarah and I have worked together in various capacities over the years. She is brilliant and has impeccable taste. I have always admired her creativity and fierce advocacy for artists. When she joined us nearly a decade ago, she fit right in and immediately became an essential member of our CAA team. I could not be prouder or more excited to see her step into this new role.”

A New Chapter for CAA Media Finance

Sarah Schweitzman’s appointment comes at a pivotal time, following the departure of Ben Kramer, a longtime colleague who is now leading a new distribution division at Black Bear. Schweitzman’s leadership is expected to further reinforce CAA Media Finance’s commitment to fostering distinctive and impactful storytelling in the entertainment industry.
