Richard Stanley Joins 'Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3'

Fans of the audacious “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” series have reason to rejoice as exciting developments unfold for the next film in the franchise. The low-budget slasher, which cleverly reimagines a beloved children’s character, is set to continue its surprising success with “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3.” Acclaimed horror writer Richard Stanley, known for “Color Out of Space,” has been tapped to pen the script for this highly anticipated installment.

The Creative Team Assembles

“Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3” was originally announced last year, and it has now secured Richard Stanley to bring his unique vision to the screenplay. Stanley’s previous work on projects like “The Island of Dr. Moreau” has made him a renowned figure in the horror genre. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2026, with ITN Studios and Premiere Entertainment involved in sales and distribution.

Jagged Edge Productions, the creative force behind the series, scored a massive unexpected hit with the first installment. Made for under $50,000, the film humorously turned A.A. Milne’s iconic bear into a haunting serial killer, earning over $5 million globally. The team aims to replicate and surpass that success with this new chapter.

Directorial and Production Insights

Returning to guide “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3” are Scott Chambers and Rhys Frake-Waterfield. Chambers, who produced the initial films, will now step into the director’s role, while Frake-Waterfield takes on the producer’s responsibilities. “I am wildly excited to be joining Scott Chambers and his creative team as screenwriter on the mind-wrenching third installment,” said Stanley. His enthusiasm reflects the film’s commitment to bringing innovative and thrilling narratives to audiences.

Chambers expressed admiration for Stanley’s past work: “I’ve always been a huge fan of ‘Color Out of Space’. With the third installment underway, I can’t wait to see his wild new vision come to life.” Enhancements in production value promise a fresh and intense visual experience.

Expanding the Eerie Universe

The upcoming film promises to introduce new characters from the original tales, such as Rabbit, heffalumps, and woozles. Following the increased budget from $50,000 to around $500,000 in the sequel, which included talents like Simon Callow and advanced prosthetic work, this next installment aims to push boundaries even further.

Jagged Edge is also busy expanding its “Twisted Childhood Universe” with additional projects like “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare” and “Bambi: The Reckoning.” A crossover feature titled “Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble” is set to begin filming in March, uniting these twisted tales.

With Richard Stanley now on board, “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3” looks set to continue the franchise’s tradition of thrilling, dark twists on childhood classics. Fans eagerly anticipate what this new chapter will bring to the screen.
