The children were all born via surrogacy. Hilton remains hospitalized under Florida’s Baker Act, which permits the involuntary hospitalization of individuals facing severe mental health challenges.

In the signed documents, Hilton acknowledges, “I realize that by signing this document, I am consenting to the Petitioner having temporary legal custody of the minor children and that such temporary custody is in the best interest of the children.” He further notes that he understands this custody arrangement is temporary and that he may petition the court to regain custody at any time.

Hilton was hospitalized after Miami-Dade Sheriff’s deputies responded to multiple reports on August 4 regarding his alarming TikTok livestream, during which he made suicidal threats and was seen cutting himself. The live broadcast reportedly lasted about 30 minutes before being taken down. Following the incident, Hilton’s TikTok account was suspended, and his family confirmed his hospitalization shortly thereafter.
Family’s Statements and Current Condition
In their statement, the family confirmed that Perez is receiving medical care and focused on his well-being, requesting privacy. As of Saturday, the family updated that he remains in “serious but stable” condition, having experienced significant blood loss and requiring surgery for additional injuries, with a long recovery process anticipated.
Petition for Sealed Custody Records
As part of her court petition, Lavandeira has requested that custody records be sealed to protect the family’s privacy. The family provided an update over the weekend, stating that Hilton’s children, along with his niece and sister, were present at home during the livestream incident but fled when it became apparent that he was experiencing a severe mental health crisis.
