Nicole Eggert from Baywatch shares her cancer journey and surgery

Nicole Eggert, known for her iconic role in “Baywatch,” is facing new health challenges as she reveals early signs of cancer and has opted for a hysterectomy. This latest development follows her ongoing battle with breast cancer, highlighting the actress’s resilience and determination. In a candid social media update, Eggert provided insights into her health journey, shedding light on the complex emotions that accompany such a diagnosis.

New Cancer Diagnosis and Hysterectomy Decision

Nicole Eggert has recently shared that she has undergone surgery after doctors detected early indicators of another cancer. The actress has been grappling with breast cancer since 2023, and her latest test results indicated that the disease may be spreading. In her heartfelt Instagram post, she expressed, “We can give in to our fear and anxiety, or we can surrender to this great mystery with courage. What a journey. Test results showed early signs of more cancer. I am grateful to my doctors for keeping such a close eye on me.” Eggert’s decision to pursue a full hysterectomy was motivated by the desire to eliminate potential risks; she mentioned, “Full Hysterectomy eliminates at least 7 different types of cancers,” as she emphasized the importance of proactive health measures.

Monitoring Health: A Constant Journey

The actress’s battle with cancer first began in December 2023, when she experienced unexplained weight gain and discomfort in her left breast. Following tests, Eggert was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer, a rare variant of the condition. Shortly thereafter, she underwent her first mastectomy, initially considering a double mastectomy but ultimately opting for a quicker treatment route directed by her medical team. A year later, in August 2025, she completed the mastectomy process on her other breast and underwent reconstruction, sharing a candid selfie of her midriff with the caption, “Had a mastectomy with reconstruction on Thursday. How was ur weekend?”

Hope Amidst Uncertainty

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Eggert expressed a mixture of hope and apprehension about her ongoing health journey. “I’m good right now. I’m testing negative for any disease. So, that’s fabulous. It’s a month-to-month thing,” she said, reflecting on the cyclical nature of her health assessments. For Eggert, receiving a clear bill of health is a brief reprieve before the next round of check-ups—an experience that remains a persistent cycle for her. She is realistic about her condition and remarked on the ongoing nature of her cancer diagnosis, saying, “The worst, the funniest advice is people will say, ‘In a year, you will look back, and it’ll be behind you.’ And it’s not; it’s a forever thing. It’s forever.”

Advocacy and Awareness

Considering her ongoing health challenges, Eggert is also keen on raising awareness about cancer and health screenings. She has been very vocal about her experiences, encouraging her followers to prioritize their health. With hashtags like “uterine cancer” and “get screened” accompanying her posts, she aims to educate others about the importance of early detection and proactive health measures. As she navigates her latest health concerns, the “Baywatch” star continues to be a source of inspiration and advocacy, highlighting both challenges and the strength required to face them head-on.
