In a surprising turn of events, The CW Network has announced that the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA competitions will not be aired this year. Originally scheduled for broadcast on August 27 and 26, 2026, respectively, the pageants have been pulled from the network’s lineup just one week before their anticipated telecasts.
The CW’s Decision
On August 21, The CW released a statement to E! News explaining the cancellation: “After careful consideration and conversations with the Miss USA Organization, The CW Network has decided to forego next week’s broadcasts of the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants. We wish the organization and all of this year’s contestants well in the competition.”
Contractual Challenges
While no specific reasons were provided for the cancellation of the broadcasts, a post on the Miss USA Instagram Story dated August 20 highlighted a “contractual issue with our production arrangements that could not be resolved within the necessary time frame.” They further emphasized their efforts to ensure the live broadcast continued, stating, “Since then, our team has worked diligently to explore options that would allow us to continue with a live broadcast on The CW. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach mutually agreeable terms for this year’s event,” as reported by Variety.
