The Grammys 2026 Best New Artist nominees have been announced, capturing the music world’s attention and sparking excitement among fans. This prestigious category highlights emerging talents who have made significant impacts with their unique musical styles and compelling performances. Among this year’s standout nominees is Olivia Dean, a British singer whose diverse sound and dynamic artistry are making waves both at home and abroad.
Olivia Dean, nominated in two Grammy categories including the highly coveted Best New Artist, is no stranger to the spotlight. Her nomination for Songwriter of the Year in the non-classical category for her hit “Man I Need” underscores her considerable talent. Yet, her journey to music stardom has been in the making for years.
A graduate of The Brit School, Dean is part of a legacy that includes prestigious alumni such as Adele, Jessie J, and the late Amy Winehouse. By 2021, she was recognized as Amazon Music’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year, a testament to her rising star power.
Rising Through the Ranks
In 2023, Olivia Dean released her debut album, Messy, which climbed to the No. 4 position on the U.K. charts and featured hits like “Dive.” Her foray into the music scene didn’t stop there. Dean’s sophomore album, The Art of Loving, released in 2025, soared to No. 1, cementing her status as a formidable force in the industry. Notably, she became the first British female artist to achieve three U.K. top 10 singles since Adele.
Defining Her Musical Style
When asked about her musical style, Olivia Dean describes it simply yet profoundly. “I’ve always just made music that I hopefully would want to listen to. It’s really as simple as that,” she shared with ELLE in a September interview. Her music is a blend of soul, jazz, and bossa nova, which she enjoys outside the studio as well. Dean’s approach is organic, driven purely by her genuine love for these genres rather than trends.
A Bright Future Ahead
The Best New Artist nomination at the Grammys 2026 is a mere milestone in Olivia Dean’s promising career. Her unique voice and authentic songwriting continue to resonate with audiences worldwide, setting her apart in a crowded industry. As she continues to evolve, fans eagerly anticipate what this innovative artist will bring next.
With the Grammys 2026 Best New Artist category shining a spotlight on fresh talent, Olivia Dean stands out as a dynamic musician poised to influence the future landscape of music.
