Marrakech Film Festival Honors Jodie Foster and Guillermo del Toro

In an exciting celebration of cinematic excellence, the Marrakech Film Festival will honor Jodie Foster, Guillermo del Toro, Raouya, and Hussein Fahmi. This prestigious event, taking place from November 28 to December 6, will bring together some of the most talented figures in the film industry to celebrate artistry and cultural diversity.

### Jodie Foster and Guillermo del Toro: A Cinematic Tribute

The Marrakech Film Festival is set to pay tribute to renowned U.S. actor-director Jodie Foster and acclaimed Mexican director Guillermo del Toro. Foster will unveil her new film “Vie Privée” (A Private Life) by director Rebecca Zlotowski, while del Toro will present “Frankenstein.” Both films promise to captivate audiences with their unique storytelling and artistry.

Expressing her excitement, Foster remarked, “What an honor to discover your beautiful city of Marrakech and to celebrate film at the same time. I can’t wait to experience the historic sites, gardens, and markets, to walk alongside new friends, colleagues, and movie lovers.”

Del Toro echoed this sentiment, stating, “I am thrilled to be invited to return to the wonderful Marrakech International Film Festival. The city has always been welcoming, and I’m especially honored to receive a tribute and show my most personal work, ‘Frankenstein.’”

### Honoring Moroccan Talent: Raouya

Moroccan actress Raouya will also be celebrated at the Marrakech Film Festival. Known for her profound connection to the festival, Raouya expressed her delight, “What joy and emotion to be celebrated in my own country, in the ochre city, at one of its largest film events. My connection to the festival is a story of friendship and loyalty.”

Raouya’s presence highlights the festival’s dedication to honoring local talent, ensuring that Moroccan cinema gains well-deserved international recognition.

### A Special Tribute to Hussein Fahmi

Egyptian actor, director, and producer Hussein Fahmi will be another distinguished honoree. Reflecting on his long-standing relationship with the festival, Fahmi stated, “Being one of those who attended the festival’s first edition, it gives me a great energy and enthusiasm to get together again with colleagues and friends from across the globe.”

Fahmi’s connection to Marrakech is deeply personal, as one of his earliest films, “Damy wadmoy waebtsamty” (My Blood, My Tears, My Smile), was filmed in the city. His tribute underscores the festival’s role in celebrating enduring contributions to the art of filmmaking.

### Celebrating a Global Cinematic Legacy

The Marrakech Film Festival not only honors individual achievements but also serves as a vibrant platform for cultural exchange. By recognizing luminaries like Jodie Foster, Guillermo del Toro, Raouya, and Hussein Fahmi, the event celebrates diverse narratives and the power of film to transcend borders.

These tributes highlight the festival’s commitment to showcasing a rich tapestry of storytelling, reaffirming its status as a premier destination for filmmakers and movie enthusiasts worldwide.
