Jason Lewis Makes a Comeback After Three Years Away
“Sex and the City” alum Jason Lewis has made a notable return to the spotlight after three years of relative silence. With a heartfelt Instagram video, he opened up about his time away from public view and hinted at exciting creative endeavors that have kept him occupied. Fans of Lewis, who is best known for his role as Smith Jerrod, are eagerly awaiting more details about his future projects and what sparked his recent re-emergence.
The actor shared a video clip on Wednesday, featuring him strolling along the beach and providing a cryptic update on his hiatus. “I went quiet,” Lewis remarked in the video. “Not because I have nothing to say, but because I had something to do.” His words resonated with fans, as many have been curious about his absence from social media and public events since his last appearance almost a year ago.
At 54 years old, Jason Lewis elaborated on his experiences during the past three years. He stated, “The kind of creative work that doesn’t leave room for much else, and I made my peace with that. It’s the kind of work that needs to find its people, though.” While he did not specify the project that has consumed his time, he expressed that he is now at a point where it “felt like it was time to resurface and share what I’ve been doing.” This exciting revelation invites intrigue regarding the nature of his creative work and whether it will be of the same caliber as his previous roles.
His sudden absence came after Jason Lewis participated in Season 31 of “Dancing with the Stars,” where he was paired with professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd. Unfortunately, they became the first couple to be eliminated from the competition, a moment Lewis described as both “challenging” and “a little scary.” He acknowledged that joining the show was something he’d previously turned down multiple times but was persuaded by his fiancée, actress Liz Godwin, who encouraged him to consider the opportunity. “When the offer came in, my fiancée asked me to be a little less pigheaded and at least take a look at a show,” he explained to People.
Reflecting on his time on “Dancing with the Stars,” Lewis said, “This is an incredible group of people. I’ve been very grateful to be a part of this.” His experience, though brief, showcased his dedication to stepping outside his comfort zone, even if it was met with unexpected challenges. As fans eagerly follow his journey, many are hopeful that this will pave the way for more visible roles and performances in the near future.
Despite his fame from “Sex and the City,” Lewis did not reprise his beloved role in the sequel series, “And Just Like That.” He humorously acknowledged this omission during an interview, saying, “I would be the last to know!” His last prominent acting role was in the NBC supernatural series “Midnight, Texas” in 2018. As he continues to resurface after years away, admirers remain optimistic that his time in the spotlight is far from over.
