Amanda Jiang Joins ‘Dracula: The Crimson Code’ with Star-Studded Cast

Filming has commenced on “Dracula: The Crimson Code,” a contemporary reimagining of the classic gothic tale. This new feature film brings together a notable cast, featuring Amanda Jiang, Joey Phillips, Richard Brake, and Shayne Ward. Known for their performances in acclaimed series such as “Outlander,” “Game of Thrones,” and “Coronation Street,” these actors are set to reinvigorate the world of Dracula with a fresh, modern twist.

Gothic Romance Meets Supernatural Thriller

Directed by Andrea M. Catinella and penned by Enrico Tessarin, “Dracula: The Crimson Code” is situated in contemporary London and the picturesque English countryside. This narrative promises to intertwine elements of gothic romance with supernatural thrills, set against a backdrop of exclusive societal gatherings and age-old rivalries.

A Modern Countess with a Dark Past

In this adaptation, Amanda Jiang takes on the role of Countess Isolde Dragomir, a powerful and enigmatic vampire aristocrat deeply embedded in London’s elite circles. The film explores Isolde’s lavish Crimson Code soirées, which mask an ancient feud between her bloodline, the Dragomirs, and their adversaries, the Howes. Central to her story is a turbulent history marked by vengeance for the tragic loss of her great love.

A Twist of Fate

The plot thickens when Isolde kills the son of a centuries-old foe, inadvertently reigniting a dangerous conflict. However, her carefully laid plans are complicated by the appearance of Theo Mercer, a man who Isolde recognizes as the reincarnation of her long-lost lover. Yet, Theo is not simply a reflection of her past; he is his own person, challenging Isolde to reassess her longing for revenge and to consider her potential for love and redemption.

Insights from the Cast and Crew

The film is produced by an accomplished team, including Tessarin, Jiang, Catinella, and Carla Fuschillo for Starmist Films. Their previous work, “City of Masks,” is set to have its world premiere in London on October 29. In her statement, Jiang expressed her fascination with gothic storytelling, stating, “I have always been drawn to gothic atmosphere, the theatricality of it, and the way those worlds can create a sense of mystery, danger, and desire.” She emphasized that “Dracula” offers an expansive opportunity to delve deeper into her love for gothic narratives.

A Story of Love and Redemption

Jiang further elaborated on the film’s themes, noting, “Isolde is powerful, dangerous, and deeply vulnerable, and at the heart of the film is a story about love, revenge, and the possibility of choosing a different future.” With its rich character dynamics and emotional depth, “Dracula: The Crimson Code” is poised to captivate audiences, marrying timeless tales of vampiric lore with modern sensibilities.
