In the wake of Princess Eugenie’s recent addition to the family, Sarah Ferguson has made her way to Portugal to provide support during this joyful time. According to InStyle, Sarah’s arrival in Melides was discreet, reflecting her low public profile throughout most of 2026. Reports from Hello! suggest she is familiar with local restaurants and has dined with Eugenie and Jack, who divide their time between the UK and Portugal, where they own a coastal home in the Costa Terra community.

Eugenie Welcomed Her First Daughter

The couple welcomed their third child at a Lisbon hospital. Born at 6:20 p.m. and weighing 6 pounds, 9 ounces, Eugenie expressed her excitement on Instagram, stating, “Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie.” A Buckingham Palace announcement confirmed that the royal family was delighted by the news. The newborn joins older brothers August, 5, and Ernest, 3, and is now 15th in line to the British throne.

A Special Moment for Sarah

This new arrival marks Sarah’s fifth grandchild, as her eldest daughter Princess Beatrice has two daughters, Sienna and Athena, with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and a stepson, Christopher “Wolfie” Mapelli Mozzi. Sarah has expressed her joy in being a grandmother, often spending time with her grandchildren, which adds to the significance of this moment.

Despite significant time away from the public eye this year amidst renewed controversies concerning her former husband, Prince Andrew, who faced allegations related to Jeffrey Epstein, Sarah remains focused on family support. She recently moved out of Royal Lodge in Windsor and has been seeking solace at wellness retreats in Austria and Switzerland.

Eugenie Enjoys Life in Portugal

Previously, Eugenie shared her affection for the privacy and relaxed lifestyle that Portugal offers her family. On the “Table Manners” podcast, she remarked, “Portugal is the dream because I can go to the supermarket in my exercise gear and my hair piled on my head and not mind.” She added that her sons enjoy swimming and learning about the sea.

This tranquil setting provides Eugenie and Jack with a peaceful environment to settle in with their new daughter, while Sarah is nearby to assist during this special transition.
