In a much-anticipated celebration of artistic and cinematic innovation, director Ryan Coogler and artist Mary Corse will be honored at this year’s LACMA Art+Film Gala. This prestigious event, long established as a cornerstone of Los Angeles’ cultural scene, highlights the powerful contributions of these influential figures. With a backdrop of elegance and creativity, the gala promises to be an unforgettable evening.

### Honoring Creative Visionaries

The selection of Ryan Coogler and Mary Corse for this event underscores their profound impact on their respective fields. Coogler, celebrated for his visionary direction in films such as “Sinners,” has redefined storytelling through cinematic mastery. Michael Govan, LACMA CEO and Wallis Annenberg Director, acknowledged this, stating, “Ryan Coogler’s films do something equally transformative. Through masterful storytelling and visual innovation, he reframes history, redefines narratives, and opens new worlds of possibility.”

Mary Corse, a distinguished figure in contemporary art, has pushed the boundaries of painting, captivating audiences with her exploration of perception. Govan praised her work, noting, “Mary Corse has continually expanded the possibilities of painting in her exquisite works, which invite us to think deeply about the nature of perception.” Both honorees challenge conventional perspectives, embodying the museum’s mission to inspire and disrupt traditional narratives.

### A Star-Studded Celebration

Set to take place on November 1, the 14th annual LACMA Art+Film Gala will be chaired by museum trustee Eva Chow and actor Leonardo DiCaprio. Gucci, with its long-standing partnership, is the presenting sponsor, adding a touch of high fashion to the event. Eva Chow remarked on the significance of this year’s gala, stating, “This year’s gala will be a truly special one as we honor the incredible L.A. artist Mary Corse and trailblazing filmmaker Ryan Coogler.”

The gala, renowned for its illustrious guest list, is a gathering place for A-listers from film, television, music, and the art world.
