Koe Wetzel and Ella Langley Reignite Romance with Duet

Koe Wetzel and Ella Langley have reunited for a fresh spin on their musical chemistry with a new single titled “Jaded.” This collaboration marks their first project since their gold-certified 2022 duet, “That’s Why We Fight.” “Jaded,” co-written by Wetzel, Langley, Jordan Schmidt, and Ernest, delves into the complexities of relationships, capturing the lament of partners who have grown complacent and allowed past disappointments to dull their connection. The poignant chorus echoes a shared sentiment: “How did you get so jaded?”

Wetzel has praised Langley’s artistry, stating in an interview with Rolling Stone, “Ella’s an incredible artist and writer. When she delivers a line, you believe it. In ‘Jaded,’ as she’s asking the questions in the chorus — ‘How’d you get so jaded? Who made you like this? Who gave you these problems even I can’t seem to fix?’ — she delivers it with so much care in her voice that it draws you in right before it stabs you in the gut. I love it.”

This release follows Wetzel’s latest album, The Night Champion, which debuted in June and features “Jaded” among its numerous tracks. Both artists have been enjoying a busy summer; while Langley has celebrated the success of her chart-topping song “Choosin’ Texas” and her album Dandelion, Wetzel continues to perform on his expansive The Night Champion Tour, which has included stops at amphitheaters and arenas across the United States, Europe, and Australia.

Wetzel’s collaborations extend beyond his work with Langley; his 2024 track “High Road,” featuring Jessie Murph, reached the top of Billboard’s Country Airplay charts. Known for his honest and often darker songwriting style, Wetzel commented, “I’m the kind of guy that’s always gonna be brutally honest when it comes to lyrics. I don’t think it’s gonna be a drastic change, but I just feel like this record really embodied the wild, crazy, says-whatever type of guy I’ve been.”

The Night Champion tour continues tonight in Evansville, Indiana.
