In an exciting development for cinema enthusiasts, Jitendra Kumar and Pooja Bhatt are set to star in a new film that dives deep into India‘s traditional pigeon-flying culture. This unique narrative not only promises a captivating story but also highlights an intriguing aspect of Indian heritage that’s rarely explored on screen.
The Story and Its Stars
Jitendra Kumar, acclaimed for his impactful roles in series like “Panchayat” on Prime Video and Netflix‘s “Kota Factory,” will take on the role of a devoted pigeon keeper. Known for his compelling performances in films such as “Jaadugar” and “Bhagwat: Chapter One – Raakshas,” Kumar’s involvement in this project marks another collaboration with co-producer Hitesh Kewalya, following their previous work on “Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan.”
Pooja Bhatt, an Indian National Film Award winner, will portray Kumar’s on-screen mother. Re-entering dramatic roles, Bhatt returns to the genre that showcased her talent in films like “Zakhm,” “Tamanna,” and “Daddy.”
Behind the Scenes
The film, still untitled, is produced by Khyati Madaan under her Not Out Entertainment banner, with Hitesh Kewalya as co-producer. Kewalya is known for writing “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan” and directing “Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan.” The direction is entrusted to first-time feature director Bilal Hasan, who penned the script. Hasan earned recognition with a Filmfare nomination for his acclaimed short “Chupchaap.”

Beyond Pigeon-Flying
Not Out Entertainment continues to expand its slate with culturally specific projects. Currently in production is “Abhootpurva,” a romantic-horror-comedy set in 1990s Agra, and featuring Ritwik Bhowmik. Additionally, a horror film based on a real national tragedy, starring Ahan Shetty, is also in development.
