Fandango has successfully raised over $2.5 million through its innovative Round Up feature, designed to encourage moviegoers to round ticket purchases to the nearest dollar for philanthropic initiatives. This initiative, which began in January 2025, has significantly benefited the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and has now introduced the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures as a seasonal partner. This collaboration is set to enhance both community engagement and film education, reflecting Fandango’s ongoing commitment to the arts.
Empowering Boys & Girls Clubs of America
Since its launch, the Round Up feature has funneled donations into supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, funding their programs and creating enriching moviegoing experiences. These efforts are designed to positively impact club members nationwide, furthering their development through exposure to the cinematic arts.
New Partnership with the Academy Museum
Fandango has announced its collaboration with the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures as its latest seasonal partner. The funds collected will support the museum’s mission to advance cinema’s understanding, celebration, and preservation. This partnership will aid various initiatives, including exhibitions, educational programs, and preservation projects, ultimately enriching the global film community.
“We’re incredibly proud that Fandango users have helped raise over $2.5 Million in the first year of our Round Up program for BGCA,” said Will McIntosh, president of digital platforms and ventures at Versant. “We are excited to partner with the Academy Museum to further their work in film preservation and education. Together, we are fostering the future moviegoers and filmmakers of tomorrow.”
Supporting Film Heritage
Amy Homma, director and president of the Academy Museum, expressed gratitude for the support, highlighting its importance in preserving and celebrating film history. “Their essential support will make a meaningful impact in moving the museum’s mission forward,” she stated, emphasizing the global reach and significance of the museum’s role.
A Future of Philanthropy
Once the seasonal partnership concludes in March 2026, Fandango plans to redirect its Round Up contributions back to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Looking ahead, Fandango intends to continue forming new partnerships with organizations that share their values of advancing accessibility, education, and community enrichment in the arts.
The Round Up feature remains available on Fandango’s website and mobile app, enabling moviegoers to contribute to these impactful initiatives seamlessly.
