Charli XCX is set to make a cameo in an upcoming horror film directed by the legendary Martin Scorsese. This collaboration marks another intersection of their artistic worlds, following Charli’s previous work with the director.
What to Expect from *What Happens at Night*
The film, titled *What Happens at Night*, is based on the gothic novel by Peter Cameron. It follows a married American couple who travel to a remote European town in hopes of adopting a baby. As they navigate the challenges associated with their adoption journey, they encounter an array of eccentric hotel guests, which adds to their sense of unease and tension.
A Star-Studded Cast
According to Variety, Charli will share the screen with Hollywood heavyweights including Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence. The film also features notable talents such as Mads Mikkelsen, Patricia Clarkson, and Jared Harris. While details about the film remain limited, its impressive cast has already generated buzz.
Previous Collaborations
Charli XCX previously collaborated with Scorsese for the cover art of her album *Music, Fashion, Film*, released in July. The black-and-white image showcases icons from each category—John Cale for music, Marc Jacobs for fashion, and Scorsese for film. Reflecting on the collaboration, Cale shared with Rolling Stone, “She said she had an idea to run by me. There was talk of a video, an ode to an imprint of time and place. Next thing, I was on a flight. Ended up in a random kitchen.”
Charli’s Recent Projects and Tour
In addition to her upcoming role in *What Happens at Night*, Charli recently starred in Pete Oh’s *Erupjca* and the mockumentary *The Moment* by Brat. She has also appeared in various other projects, including Julia Jackman’s *100 Nights of Hero*, Gregg Araki’s *I Want Your Sex*, Cathy Yan’s *The Gallerist*, and an untitled film by Takashi Miike.
Currently, Charli is wrapping up the North American leg of her tour in support of her album, with her final performance scheduled for Friday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
