Barry Manilow, the legendary performer, has decided to delay his Las Vegas residency following cancer surgery in order to focus on recovery and ensure he’s ready for his upcoming tour. This decision reflects his commitment to health and his loyal fans, who eagerly await his return to the stage. The updates were made public as Manilow shared his progress and plans via social media.
Recovery and Rescheduling
The iconic singer was originally set to grace the stage at Westgate Las Vegas from February 12 to 21. However, Barry Manilow announced that he would be postponing these performances to prioritize his health. In December, Manilow revealed he had undergone surgery to remove a cancerous spot on his lung, and while recovery is going well, doctors have advised him to take additional time to heal.
“I’m doing great and recovering very well after my surgery,” he shared on social media. “Having a few weeks to rest and prepare is what the doctor ordered!”
Back to the Stage
For fans eager to see Barry Manilow perform, there’s good news. Tickets for the postponed Vegas dates will be refunded, and he plans to return to the Westgate on March 26, 27, and 28. This brief delay ensures he can give his best performance when he hits the stage again.
Tour Plans and New Music
Manilow is also gearing up for his arena tour, kicking off in Tampa, Florida, at the Benchmark International Arena on February 27. The tour will continue to cities like Nashville, Orlando, Charleston, and Portland, culminating in Duluth, Georgia, at the Gas South Arena on April 29. Fans across the country are excited to see him perform live.
In addition to touring, Barry Manilow’s new song, “Once Before I Go,” released in September, recently made its way onto the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. This achievement comes more than 50 years after his first chart appearance in 1974 with the hit “Mandy.”
Barry Manilow’s determination to balance his health with his passion for music is inspiring. Fans eagerly await his full return and look forward to a successful tour and more chart-topping hits.
