In a recent appearance on the Dear Chelsea podcast hosted by Chelsea Handler, Faris revealed her unique approach to discussing faith with her son. “I didn’t grow up with religion,” she said. “He’s asked me to accept Jesus Christ, and I told him I would do anything for him, including this, but it’s gonna take a whole lot of long conversations.”

Faris appreciates that these discussions can take place comfortably, thanks to Jack’s solid emotional foundation. She described him as “as solid as a tugboat,” noting that he “just doesn’t get easily jarred” and handles situations exceptionally well. He’s impressive ‘cause I try to challenge him,” she explained. “I’m like, ‘Do you think it’s a luxury that you get to be pro-life? Do you think that’s kind of a luxury?’ And he’s like, ‘Maybe.’” Faris also brings current issues into their conversations, asking Jack for his opinion on prominent figures in the religious community. “So what do you think of this mega pastor that’s kind of a grifter? What do you think?” she asked, to which he replied, “Oh, mega pastors are the worst.”
