Tennessee Probes Alleged Assault Linked to 'Reacher' Actor Ritchson

Alan Ritchson, well-known for his role in “Reacher,” has been cleared by Tennessee police following a neighborhood dispute. The incident, which took place in Brentwood, Tennessee, involved a confrontation over noise complaints related to Ritchson’s motorcycle. Authorities concluded that Ritchson acted in self-defense, and no criminal charges will be filed. This article delves into the details of the altercation and the subsequent investigation.

Police Determine Self-Defense

Local authorities were called to a heated altercation between Alan Ritchson and his neighbor, Ronnie Taylor. The dispute arose from Taylor’s complaints about noise disturbances caused by Ritchson’s motorcycle. After reviewing evidence, including video footage and witness statements, Brentwood Police Captain Steven Pepin confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that no criminal charges will be pursued against Ritchson. “Mr. Ritchson’s actions were found to be in self-defense,” Pepin stated.

Details of the Incident

The altercation was initially reported by TMZ, showing a video of Ritchson and Taylor in a physical confrontation. The footage, later revealed to be edited, showed Taylor instigating the altercation by rushing into the street and confronting Ritchson. Additional clips, including footage from Ritchson’s body cam, confirmed that Taylor attacked first. Taylor admitted to shoving Ritchson off his motorcycle and challenging him, which justified Ritchson’s defensive actions.

Neighbor’s Perspective

Taylor explained to TMZ that the dispute began over two days, with him witnessing Ritchson speeding on a motorcycle. On Sunday, Taylor reportedly blocked Ritchson’s path, causing a confrontation. Taylor admitted to provoking the altercation, saying he “did push him because he was coming toward me on his bike.” The video showed Taylor stepping into the street and making contact, leading Ritchson to defend himself.

Ritchson’s Background and Future Projects

Ritchson, a motorcycle enthusiast, recently returned to the U.S. after filming abroad. He starred in Netflix’s “War Machine” and is involved in a new project about Navy SEAL Mike Thornton. Despite the recent incident, his professional commitments remain unaltered. Reps for Ritchson have not yet commented on the altercation.
