Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have offered support to the community affected by the Los Angeles wildfires, helping to distribute supplies and encouraging rescue teams.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got directly involved in helping victims of the Los Angeles wildfires, visiting the Pasadena Convention Center on Friday. The pair offered practical help by distributing food and supplies to affected families, showing empathy and solidarity with the community.
A gesture of solidarity in Pasadena
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who live about 90 miles from Los Angeles, arrived in Pasadena to meet both fire victims and rescue crews. According to People, the couple personally thanked Los Angeles County firefighters and police officers who worked tirelessly to protect residents and their property.
Victor Gordo, the mayor of Pasadena, said the couple’s visit lifted the spirits of those affected. “They are wonderful people with great personalities and great souls. Their presence had a positive impact on everyone,” he said.
Working with charities
Harry and Meghan have been working with World Central Kitchen, the organization founded by chef José Andrés, to distribute food to affected areas. The mayor said the pair came “anonymously” wearing masks and hats to serve food to families. Meghan chose an LA Dodgers cap, while Harry wore a black one labeled “Cali” from local brand James Perse.
“They weren’t there for the publicity. They came to work,” Gordo told The Post.
A message to the community
In a statement released afterward, the royal couple encouraged the community to offer their help, either by donating or by hosting those who were evacuated. “If a friend, family member or pet needs to evacuate and you can offer them a safe place in your home, please do so,” they tweeted. They also stressed the importance of checking to see if elderly neighbors or people with disabilities need support.
Impact of the fires
The devastating fires in Los are many celebrities, including Jenny Garth, Paris Hilton and Miles Teller, who lost their properties in the blaze.
An example of empathy
