With the buzz surrounding Heated Rivalry still fresh, Amazon is gearing up for another hit on the ice. The highly anticipated Prime Video series Off Campus, adapted from Elle Kennedy’s bestselling book series, is poised to capture viewers’ attention, potentially echoing the success of its predecessor. This article delves into everything you need to know about Off Campus, the Prime Video book adaptation that could potentially become the new ‘Heated Rivalry’.
Exploring the Plot
Off Campus is based on Elle Kennedy’s popular book series, and it spotlights the life of studious and introverted Hannah Wells. When she agrees to a pretend date with Briar University’s hockey star, Garrett Graham, things take an unexpected turn. What starts as a ploy to make someone else jealous turns into genuine feelings. As the story unfolds, Garrett realizes that he has to convince Hannah that the man she truly desires might just be him.
The series promises to bring the same captivating blend of romance and drama that fans cherished in the original books, setting the stage for a thrilling narrative that Prime Video hopes will echo the success of Heated Rivalry.
Release Details and How to Watch
Season one of Off Campus is set to premiere on May 13, exclusively on Prime Video. It will be available to stream for free for Amazon Prime members. Those without a membership can take advantage of a 30-day free trial to watch Off Campus online.
For fans eager to dive into the literary origins of the show, the original book series by Elle Kennedy is available on Amazon, with paperback novels currently more than 50% off.
What Sets Off Campus Apart?
While both Off Campus and Heated Rivalry revolve around the world of ice hockey, Off Campus focuses on the college experience rather than professional sports, introducing fictional institutions like Briar University and the Briar Hawks. The show intertwines themes of love, heartbreak, and self-discovery set against the backdrop of college life.
Described as a “college soap,” the series encapsulates the complexities and emotional turbulence of transitioning into adulthood, exploring relationships, friendships, and personal growth.
Origins of Off Campus
Unlike Heated Rivalry, which was inspired by NHL players, Elle Kennedy has stated that Off Campus is purely fictional. The first season draws from The Deal, the debut title in Kennedy’s series. Given the anticipation, Prime Video has already greenlit a second season, showcasing their confidence in the show’s potential appeal.
Readers wanting to explore the entire series can find all five books available on Amazon at a reduced price, providing keen insights ahead of the show’s release.
The cast of Off Campus features emerging talents Ella Bright, Belmont Cameli, Mika Abdalla, and Antonio Cipriano. Their performances are expected to add a fresh dynamic to the series, drawing parallels to the acclaim received by the actors in Heated Rivalry.
